EVERYDAY MOMENTS: WEEK EIGHT

We had planned a mini getaway for ages. Justin had a surfing lesson and a dive voucher.

But after on half a day Jarvis asked if Tamika and 'his Chester" could join us. Best move ever. I got to spend so much time with all of my babies. Tamika got to relax. And Jarvis and Chester got to hang out every minute of every day.

Most afternoons were spent like this. Just lazily enjoying the beach.

EVERYDAY MOMENTS: WEEK SEVEN

Tamika was off at her antenatal appointment. Justin was working on the coast, so it was just the boys, and I, today. With no pool and horrid heat and humidity, we spend ages splashing in the little Splash and Play pool. Best $20 bucks I have spent in a long time.

Same same but different. My two are so much alike in so many ways. There are only tiny glimpses of me in Jarvis. His love of cleaning and order. His love of cuddles and affection. That is me. But, on a lazy day like yesterday, my two are almost a mirror image.

With no car all week. (Off at the panel beaters) And extremely hot humid days, we opted to do one of Jarvis's favourite things...go to the movies. Even more fun for him was that we caught the bus to the cinema.

Quote from Jarvis: "Me see that!".

After every preview at the cinema Jarvis will tell me this. He loves the movies so much, he wants to watch every single one that comes out even "Mummy Daddy movie" which is how Jarvis describes any movie that is not a PG movie. We took him to watch The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. We were not sure if he would sit till and or enjoy, but he loved it as much as his movies, talked for days about the bad guys, and how the doctor help people like Octonauts help people.

I often find myself stopping in awe of just how much I love these three people. My daughter. My son. My grandson. My heart.

Quote from Jarvis as we got home "hmm good day".

Yes, it was. A bus to Southbank to GOMA, then a walk into the city to get milkshakes, with Tamika and Chester. All of Jarvis's favourite things in life.

These two. They made me who I am today. They have my heart.

Also, be aware if Jarvis asks you into the trampoline with him. It is like entering the wresting ring.

According to Wikki: Wrestling is a combat sport involving grappling type techniques such as clinch fighting, throws and takedowns, joint locks, pins and other grappling holds. A wrestling bout is a physical competition, between two competitors or sparring partners, who attempt to gain and maintain a superior position.

According to Jarvis: "jump with me" is equal to no rules. No limits. How often can one small boy body slam the victim in the ring with him. Lucky we all love him enough to get in the ring with him more than once.

And just to show how loving Jarvis can be, he got of the trampoline and covered his sister and nephew in kisses.

Final image for 2014 had to be the cutest Christmas Family.

Yup I went there. I made us all matching Iliska Dreams Christmas pjs, and got us all to wear them with white tops. Now if only I had of had the time to take the corniness up a notch. But I am loving these images!

There are dozens more, but I won't over do it. I will leave it at these and say:

Thank you. Thank you for being my family and giving me a fantastic Christmas day.

And the best thing of the day was what Jarvis said when we went to bed that night. I asked him what was his favourite present...his response melted me heart and made me so happy.

"All the people eat here for breakfast and My Chester". Jarvis choose people over 'things' as his favourite gift of the day...So proud.

I thought this a good image for my second last Portrait a Week. Jarvis and I, taken by Justin. Me with my new hair, with my gorgeous boy, who always tells is as it is.

I asked him if he liked my hair, Jarvis replied "Daddy no like purple hair, uck. I want gold hair."

So I am guessing my new hair is not a hit with the boys in my life. But I like it. Oh, and we were both blinking to stir up Justin who was trying to take our photo.

These boys have my heart. I am in awe of how much Jarvis loves his nephew. Not a hint of jealousy only complete, and utter love.

Had to do so editing, and not use a lot of gorgeous photos for the sake of modesty. But here are my two gorgeous, naked boys, holding hands, hanging out, watching Jarvis's favourite show.

Jarvis quote: "Chester and I like Octonauts. Octonauts help people and animals and that is good. Just like Chester is good".

My boys. I think my heart explodes when I see these two together. Busy watching a DVD, but Jarvis leans in every couple of minutes to cuddle and kiss Chester.

Crack up quote from Jarvis, after asking if Chester was a boy or a girl "silly Mumma, Chester is my baby". So apparently he is Jarvis's baby.

These two images speak of so much. Of a bond so strong between a father and son, the father is happy to go "swimming" in the sink with his son. Of just how horribly hot and humid it has been in Brisbane the last week. It also shows such a glimpse into our lives. Plus the title freaks me out thinking how little time is left until the year ends.

Jarvis has wanted to see Chester and Tamika everyday this week. He wakes up and asks to "play Chester". I am really looking forward to when Chester is old enough to play.

On Wednesday we all caught the bus to GOMA, Jarvis loves declaring art into two categories "weird art" or "boring".  He prefers "weird art" and gets super excited when he finds one that fits into that bracket.

As we were leaving I remembered to play tourist and ask a stranger to take our group portrait. Thank you stranger, very much appreciated.

Why is it when we go away I remember to ask someone else to take our family portrait? Yet I can never remember to do this when we are at home?

Here is our daggy, faces filled with sun glare, tourist portrait for this week.

I looked up from the kitchen, and saw a connection. A love so deep between my two boys. I did not even look at the camera settings, I just grabbed it and hoped for the best. I only got off one shot, before they moved and too much was revealed of my ever naked son.

An uncle and his nephew. Chester is constantly covered in sticky kisses from Jarvis and Jarvis is constantly checking on Chester and fussing over him.

Ever single time Chester is around Jarvis all we hear is Jarvis saying "me look after Chester, me love Chester".

Melts my heart. Makes my ovaries ache.
