A boy and his cat. Or sometimes I think Tira thinks Jarvis is hers. Where ever one is the other is always close by. Whether they are playing or sleeping. This time I spied on them playing in the yard together.

Last year Jodi inspired me to pick up my camera and turn the focus inward. This year I have opted to continue with the series as I feel there are still so many family stories to be told through photos. So I will continue to Link up with Jodi  (the artist formerly known as Che & Fidel now Practising Simplicity) for the 52 Project.

WHAT I GROW IN MY GARDEN: CORIANDER

Yes, this is just a pot of dirt.

I have tried everything to grow coriander, as I love cooking with it. Tira also loves coriander. But, she ALWAYS uses it as a toilet!

I have tried netting and other things, but she always works around them. Bloody cat. Any hints? I really want this herb in my garden as I love cooking with it.

I also cannot grow parsley, which is interesting as coriander is a Chinese parsley.

This is what I want my coriander to look like! Note this image is not mine it was taken from Mark's Veg Plot

17/52

I am never sure who follows who, but some how Jarvis and Tira always mange to spend most of the day side by side.

There are a few, Portrait a Week options out there. A lot involve taking a portrait of your children each week. Jodi over at Che and Fidel has inspired me to pick up my camera and turn the focus inward. Since I already take 100s of photos of my children each week, so I thought I would twist the idea a little. What I never seem to get is group shots, images of the family together, whether it is my two children, Tamika and Jarvis, or me with the kids, or shots of Justin and I. So I am going to challenge myself to get one image of "my family" per week.

I know I have mentioned it previously; however, Tira and Jarvis share a special bond. Tira will watch over Jarvis. She is ultra protective of him, this includes bath time. Tira will come in a ‘supervise’ Jarvis’s bath. He will splash and throw water at the cat. But strange cat that she is, Tira just sits there and takes it from him.
I even joke sometime that Tira acts a bit motherly towards Jarvis, watching over him, as if none of us humans can do it well enough.
