There was a trampoline on the farm that we stayed at over the week-end.
Not a new one with all of the fancy safety attachments. But an old trampoline.
A death trap from my childhood era, with exposed springs and torn mat. However,
Jarvis fell in love with it. Not knowing how to jump, he would do the run and
fall option. Or get help from his Dad. Justin spent ages with him, either
bouncing him with his and or getting on it and jumping with him. My son is
growing up to be such a dare devil.
There are a
few, Portrait a Week options out there. A lot involve taking a portrait of your
children each week. Jodi over at Che
and Fidel has inspired me to pick up my camera and turn the focus
inward. Since I already take 100s of photos of my children each week, so I
thought I would twist the idea a little. What I never seem to get is group
shots, images of the family together, whether it is my two children, Tamika and
Jarvis, or me with the kids, or shots of Justin and I. So I am going
to challenge myself to get one image of "my family" per
week.
Love it! It looks as if Jarvis is about to float off in to space.
ReplyDeleteMy other fave, was an image of Jarvis doing a face plant, and all of his hair is standing up in the air.
DeleteIt must have been so fun! Did you know that jumping on the trampoline is a great way to exercise?
ReplyDeleteI was a little nervous, this image does not show it, but there were springs missing and tears in the trampoline, I was worried if I bounced too much I would tear through the thing
DeleteSome day I want a trampoline, but I want to bury it in the ground next to a pool, because how fun would that be as a diving board!?
ReplyDeleteAs dodgy as this trampoline was , it really makes me want to get one for Jarvis
DeleteWE SPEND HOURS ON OURS...WELL THE KIDS DO. BUT I COULDNT IMAGINE EVEN CONSIDERING ONE WITHOUT THE ENCLOSURE.....oops sorry just realised caps on!.....I think there would of been many nervous mums back in the day...and many trips to A&E. Al x
ReplyDeleteI should post a photo tow how dodgy this one is/was. But Jarvis loved it. I think this is going to have to be his birthday gift this year. LOL, not this dodgy one, but a new one
DeleteOOOO THIS SHAPED TRAMPOLINE REMINDS ME OF BEACH HOLIDAYS WHERE THEY USED TO BE ALONG THE SAND! MY DAD WOULD NEVER LET US ON THEM, HE SAID THEY WERE ACCIDENTS WAITING TO HAPPEN!! BET YOU COULDN'T WATCH COULD YOU! i FRET ABOUT MINE BAD ENOUGH WITH NETTING ON!
ReplyDeleteI was nervous, but also figured since Jarvis has not learnt to jump yet he would be with one of us each time he was on it.
DeleteLove this action shot ... I can FEEL the fun :0)
ReplyDeleteJarvis was laughing so much. It made us laugh
DeleteHa! I love this. Go Jarvis. Makes me want to squeal "weeee!" Great capture!
ReplyDeleteIt did make me feel like bit of a child again.
DeleteOh that's just awesome!!
ReplyDeleteGin (ginplustonic.wordpress.com)
Jarvis's laughter was awesome. I should learn how to upload video so I can share the footage we took of him on the trampoline
DeleteOh boy! I remember playing on those death trap trampolines as a kid, and watching as my cousins did flips and tricks, wishing I were as cool and coordinated (that particular wish never came true, fyi!) Anyway, trampoline-y good times. I like.
ReplyDeleteMy biggest co-ordination trick was to get on it with out falling through the strings. I am hopeful Jarvis will grow up to be way more co-ordinated than me.
DeleteI seriously missed out on trampoline fun when I was a kid. Jarvis looks so happy!
ReplyDeleteMum would never let us on one, said they were too dangerous. Now as a parent I understand her point of view, however, wow, what fun did we, umm I mean Jarvis have!
DeleteWOw! thats a lovely capture.
ReplyDeleteThank you. The golden light was perfect
