My eldest Sister’s youngest child and my youngest. Jackson and Jarvis,
our boys. Over at my little sister’s house ‘helping’ landscape the back garden.
There are a
few, Portrait a Week options out there. A lot involve taking a portrait of your
children each week. Jodi over at Che
and Fidel has inspired me to pick up my camera and turn the focus
inward. Since I already take 100s of photos of my children each week, so I
thought I would twist the idea a little. What I never seem to get is group
shots, images of the family together, whether it is my two children, Tamika and
Jarvis, or me with the kids, or shots of Justin and I. So I am going
to challenge myself to get one image of "my family" per
week.
I really enjoy the variety in your photos and that you give a little description or tell a story. I feel that you let the reader in a little more behind the moment captured in the photo...
ReplyDeleteIn life I talk too much. So it only seems natural that I add a commentary to my images. Plus this blog is a memory keeping space, so it is good for me to have text as it triggers even more memories.
DeleteOh to dig, dig, dig! Simple fun. My own two are so at peace with a spade and some stuff to shovel. Lovely.

Jarvis love to dig, whether it is in our garden, or in this case my sister's almost landscaped back yard.
DeleteHey there? How's everything? I'm back at blogging and I'm really enjoying your photos! It seems like it's totally autumn there, right?
ReplyDeleteIt is actually the middle of winter. Nights are cold, but the days are warm and sunny. Welcome back!
DeleteOh how adorable! I love when kids "help" around the garden and the house.

Jarvis loves to help in the garden. He will spend ages with his bucket and spades.
DeleteMy mother could use a hand in our garden once he's done over there ;). This is an adorable photo.
ReplyDeleteWill send Jarvis and Jackson over. Though it has been my older sister who has designed and down most of the manual/hard labour, so she should head over as well.
DeleteThat's a great challenge! My mother just asked me why there aren't any pictures of me with the kids. I think that's on the list for the next half of the year!

We, (mothers) often get forgotten in the family history. We always tend to be the photo takers. This year with my blog and this series has been the most photos taken of me... I think ever.
Deleteso sweet and what an age difference. looks like a very zen garden
ReplyDeleteMy sister's youngest is just about to finish year 12, so Jackson will be 17 in September. Jarvis will be two in December. But Jackson is amazing with little kids he is and uncle to four.
