I discovered that it is really hard to play chase, and take photos at the same time.

One of Jarvis's favourite games is chase. I have to scare Jarvis, he runs to Justin telling Justin to "yun Dadday yun". Then I have to chase Justin and Jarvis around the house. There is lots of screaming and laughing. I often wonder what the neighbours think is going on. Yesterday, when Jarvis wanted up, Justin put him in the wash basket, I wanted to document this, however, 90% of the images were out of focus. Which is a pity as the expressions on Jarvis's face is priceless.

Last year Jodi inspired me to pick up my camera and turn the focus inward. This year I have opted to continue with the series as I feel there are still so many family stories to be told through photos. So I will continue to Link up with Jodi  (the artist formerly known as Che & Fidel now Practising Simplicity) for the 52 Project.

Also linking up with Bron over at Baby Space with the quote a week.

  1. You have certainly captured the "Happy" here, such joy on a little face, isn't it funny how kids get the most enjoyment from things that aren't toys.
My little kids would get the peg basket, then we would peg a blanket to the clothes line, one side along one wire and the opposite side along another wire with a space of 3 or 4 wires inbetween, makes sort of a hammock, make it as high off the ground as you or the child feel is ok. You use nearly all the pegs for safety ( the line was on the grass not over concrete) The kids then took turns to lay in the "hammock" and the line would get spun around, by the adult, not too fast, the brave one would stick head and arms out of the front end to "fly"
Most little kids have no sense of danger and big kids think they are" bullet proof" so this game was never without adult supervision........have fun.

  2. Little miss has a love of the wash basket too, she usually wants me to carry her out in the yard in it!
I think you've captured the happiness perfectly!

  3. Hard to photograph and play chase at the same time. But I am glad I did. All too soon it will just be a memory or Jarvis yelling Yun Daddy yun.

  4. Jarvis would love this game. He loves sheet changing day. When we make the bed, Jarvis lays on top of the sheets and we flip him into the air. Our arms give out before he tires of this game. At first I was freaked out how little fear he has, now I wonder if it is just Jarvis's job in life to scare his parents with his antics

  5. That sheet game sounds like lots of fun, I never had help making beds, so we didn't do that one. Our game was someone would "sneak" under the sheets and then I would have to make a big deal of wondering out loud what the Lump was, while poking, prodding, squashing and tickling, until the lump , exhausted from laughing, would say "it's Me, it's me"

  10. Stupid me even forgot to put it on action. I had it on manual and on a low ISO for a dark morning. I just grabbed it as I ran past my desk, didn't think to adjust. Will have to try again though
