THE HEALING EARTH

Today was the day to dig in the dirt. Turn it and prepare it. Three gardens beds. One already full and growing strong, sweet potato and pumpkin. The other two needed to be dug and mulched a final time before planting.
Three hours later the earth is ready for the seedling that we have been growing. It is now time for our winter crop to begin its life.

 Tomato seedlings

Sweet potato still going so strong. How beautiful are their flowers?

 My assistant needed a drink

His grubby butt and shoes are clean in comparison to mine.

"Healing
By D. H. Lawrence

I am not a mechanism, an assembly of various sections.
And it is not because the mechanism is working wrongly, that I am ill.
I am ill because of wounds to the soul, to the deep emotional self
and the wounds to the soul take a long, long time, only time can help
and patience, and a certain difficult repentance long, difficult repentance,
realization of life’s mistake, and the freeing oneself
from the endless repetition of the mistake
which mankind at large has chosen to sanctify

  1. We have gardens at our new home. These photos make me want to get Dominic into some grubby clothes and start digging. He'd LOVE IT. Jarvis is so cute!! I love that you include him in most everything you do.

    1. Jarvis loves digging in the dirt. No matter what the weather he will spend ages in the garden. I include him in everything, as we are always together, only had one night apart and that was because I had radium in the hospital and could not be near him for 24 hours. Was the longest 24hours ever.

  2. Getting my hands in the dirt for want of a less punny word grounds me. It's great that Jarvis is learning a love for gardening from you!

    1. He loves the garden more than I do. Tamika bought him his own wheelbarrow and tools, so he can "help" dig and cart stuff around. He loves it
