9/52

So, this image was not taken this week. But as soon as I saw my two boys sitting on the end of the dock, I knew I had to share this gorgeous image with everyone. Plus I am missing all of the sunshine Fiji offered us.

There are a few, Portrait a Week options out there. A lot involve taking a portrait of your children each week. Jodi over at Che and Fidel has inspired me to pick up my camera and turn the focus inward. Since I already take 100s of photos of my children each week, so I thought I would twist the idea a little. What I never seem to get is group shots, images of the family together. Whether it is my two children, Tamika and Jarvis. Or me with the kids. Or shots of Justin and I. So I am going to challenge myself to get one image of "my family" per week.

    1. This week in Brisbane has been all about rain, I needed a little sunshine in my life.

  2. I agree, a perfect excuse for rule bending! This portrait is stunning! Better than all this rain.

I must admit, I've been finding it difficult at times to capture 5 original & interesting images of us all each week. Last week I included a group shot of the furbabies as it was my favourite from the week. I think I'll include some family portraits every now and again.

    1. I think as long as we pick up the camera each week. Shoot on manual. It does not matter if we capture our families individually, collectively or a combination of of both.

    1. In Australia we call it Autumn. But I feel as if we got ripped off in regards to summer. In Brisbane we have had so much rain it has really cut back on the amount of beach days we could enjoy.

  4. You're right. I hardly ever take pictures of myself with the boys, or my husband and I... Something that has been on my mind and you've brought it to the fore! Thank you.

    1. I once read an article about how a lot of mothers get lost in the family history. The two main reasons were, Mum is the one taking the images. But, the main one was women are too self concious of how they, we/I look. So avoid photos. Children don't see Mum's lumps and bumps they see their Mumma. Since reading this, I have been trying to also include myself in my family history.

    1. I find it hard to get my two children in photos together as well, it is hard when there is such a huge age gap. So I saw this 52 project as a good challenge to change that.

    1. It is only the 5th of March and it comes as no surprise....
"The weather bureau confirmed the city has received half its annual rainfall already this year.

Brisbane's average for March is 148mm, with 92mm recorded in the past 24 hours."
