35/52

You know how they joke about mechanics cars? Well I am a photographer’s partner. I think the last time Justin took photos of me was when I was pregnant with Jarvis. Then this week I got two separate shoots! One of my new hair, and one of my new skirt. So I thought I would take images of this momentous occasion. Besides that, I love watching Justin work, he gets so serious.

Jodi over at Che and Fidel has inspired me to pick up my camera and turn the focus inward. Since I already take 100s of photos of my children each week, so I thought I would twist the idea a little. What I never seem to get is group shots, images of the family together, whether it is my two children, Tamika and Jarvis, or me with the kids, or shots of Justin and I. So I am going to challenge myself to get one image of "my family" per week.

  1. Oh it would be so nice having a partner who didn't mind snapping a shot or two for the blog!
But I know what you mean...my poor husband has a nurse for a wife...his ailments have to be REALLY bad to garner any attention!

    1. I don't normally get Justin to take photos, bit much when he has spent a 14 hour day photographing a wedding to then ask him to take photos of me for my blog. Ha, I can just imagine your poor hubby bleeding to death and you just yell at him to put a band aid on it.

    1. Thank you. Yes Justin does have a brother, looks nothing like him, but is an absolute sweet heart.

  3. Oh what I wouldn't do to have someone who was around during convenient hours to help with pics. Hubby heads off early in the morning, home in the arvo, so it only leaves the occasional snippet of time when the kids are napping on the weekend to seize the opportunity.

    1. I use the tripod or Tamika. It is normally a momentous occasion for Justin to take photos of me.

    1. But by the looks of it your partner (husband) is the exception! If you click on the Jam logo on my blog it takes you to Justin's website. But I have been thinking of doing a post on his work, he has so many amazing images.

    1. I can take no credit for the photo a week it is all the Lovely Jodi over at Che and Fidel. I just took a slant on her idea and opted to do family portraits.

    1. HA! Thank you. But I do get it. On Sunday he spent 12 hours plus photographing a wedding. Monday doing cast and crew and performance of I Am Here ( https://www.facebook.com/events/429329560513599/) His days are long, and don't forget all of post production editting, so I can only imagine how tedious it would b to have me demanding to take images for my blog all of the time

  8. You are so lucky to have a photographer as a hubby, you should definitely make him take photos of you more often :P
I am LOVING the pattern on this skirt, I just added a whole heap of skirts in this style to my wardrobe - and now need to find some tops for them!

    1. I tend to stick to a basci singlet or long sleeve t, but am always looking at alternatives. Let me know what you find.
