28/52

There was a trampoline on the farm that we stayed at over the week-end. Not a new one with all of the fancy safety attachments. But an old trampoline. A death trap from my childhood era, with exposed springs and torn mat. However, Jarvis fell in love with it. Not knowing how to jump, he would do the run and fall option. Or get help from his Dad. Justin spent ages with him, either bouncing him with his and or getting on it and jumping with him. My son is growing up to be such a dare devil.

There are a few, Portrait a Week options out there. A lot involve taking a portrait of your children each week. Jodi over at Che and Fidel has inspired me to pick up my camera and turn the focus inward. Since I already take 100s of photos of my children each week, so I thought I would twist the idea a little. What I never seem to get is group shots, images of the family together, whether it is my two children, Tamika and Jarvis, or me with the kids, or shots of Justin and I. So I am going to challenge myself to get one image of "my family" per week.

  1. Love it! It looks as if Jarvis is about to float off in to space.

    1. I was a little nervous, this image does not show it, but there were springs missing and tears in the trampoline, I was worried if I bounced too much I would tear through the thing

  3. Some day I want a trampoline, but I want to bury it in the ground next to a pool, because how fun would that be as a diving board!?

    1. I was nervous, but also figured since Jarvis has not learnt to jump yet he would be with one of us each time he was on it.

    1. Jarvis's laughter was awesome. I should learn how to upload video so I can share the footage we took of him on the trampoline

  9. Oh boy! I remember playing on those death trap trampolines as a kid, and watching as my cousins did flips and tricks, wishing I were as cool and coordinated (that particular wish never came true, fyi!) Anyway, trampoline-y good times. I like.

    1. My biggest co-ordination trick was to get on it with out falling through the strings. I am hopeful Jarvis will grow up to be way more co-ordinated than me.

    1. Mum would never let us on one, said they were too dangerous. Now as a parent I understand her point of view, however, wow, what fun did we, umm I mean Jarvis have!
